The LERIA, Laboratoire d’Étude et de Recherche en Informatique d’Angers (Computer Science Study and Research Laboratory of Angers) is a research unit of the University of Angers, labelled a Host Team (EA 2645). Located on the Faculty of Sciences campus, the LERIA has 22 modules (almost all of which taught in the Computer Science department), about 15 PhD students, post-doctoral fellows and Temporary Teaching and Research Attachés (ATER), as well as two administrative personnel. The LERIA is associated with the MathSTIC interregional doctoral school. It is also a member of the Atlanstic2020 Federation, which manages the education, innovation and research strategy of the Pays de la Loire region in the field of digital technologies. Together with the LAREMA and LARIS laboratories, it forms the federative research structure MathSTIC of the University of Angers.
The LERIA conducts fundamental and applied research in the field of artificial intelligence. Its activities are organized around two main themes: Knowledge Representation and Reasoning, and Metaheuristics and Combinatorial Optimization.
