Laboratoire des Sciences du Numérique de Nantes (LS2N) is a new joint research unit (UMR 6004). It was established in 2017 following a merger between IRCCyN (UMR 6597: Institut de Recherche en Communications et Cybernétique de Nantes), and LINA (UMR 6241: Laboratoire d’Informatique de Nantes Atlantique). Bringing together 450 people from the world of digital sciences, this laboratory is tasked with raising the profile of cybernetics and information sciences research in Nantes. The talent at this major laboratory is making a contribution to the digital revolution through its scientific and technological focus. At the same time, it is mindful of the societal challenges that come with this revolution and remains interested in and open-minded about other disciplines.
